Parents who don’t provide the basic necessities for their kids’ survival can be charged with child neglect. They can even lose their parental rights. What happens to societies who through their economic policies create situations where children and families do not have access to food or adequate shelter? How do we hold poor parents accountable while letting an abusive economy off the hook?
