Anthony will be a keynote plenary speaker at the 20th Annual NYS Child Abuse Prevention Conference in Albany April 13-15, 2015. His talk is entitled Watch the Gap! How capitalism negatively affects the development of children and families. This talk will focus on how income inequality raises risk for negative health and behavioral outcomes throughout the lifespan, and how capitalism itself creates communities which ultimately do not meet the needs of children and families.

Anthony will also be presenting the keynote speech at the 2015 Annual Parent Child Home Program Conference in Uniondale, NY, May 4th – 5th, where his talk will be titled Adverse Childhood Experiences, Health and Behavior: The science of risk. This talk will focus on how the trauma and chronic stress of childhood abuse and neglect can increase risk for everything from school failure to behavioral disorders, cognitive problems, addictive behaviors and mental illness. He will also demonstrate how being low socioeconomic status raises risk for all of these negative outcomes.
